Party

Your lips are so close.
I see you miles away,
And I’m tired of all the doubt.
You compliment my everything
So elegant and perfectly.
I drink to escape reality
Where you’re too close.
How do I find my place?
I pace myself.
I second guess myself.
I try to beat myself
And end up falling short of
Health.
What’s wrong with the way I live?
I do things wrong,
I know.
You look at me again
And I can’t help but hide my smile.
You know what I know.
You know how I feel,
And you keep taunting me.
Drop your guard and fall in line
With all the things I have in mind;
We’ll find our place in time, friend.
Sing a song of hope
And I’ll sing along
As best as I can.
